How to Reach Alleppey?

Kochi International Airport is nearest and well connected with all major cities of India and some of the foreign cities as well. Kochi airport is jus 55km away from Alleppey. It takes one hour to reach Alleppey from Kochi. You can take a taxi outside the airport or bus or you can take train from Ernakulam Jn.
Alleppey is well connected with National Highways which are very scenic with the Sea visible on one side of road and coconut trees on the other. One can hire a cab or drive by own which is very enjoyable. One can take a KSRTC bus or a private bus to and fro from Alleppey, these buses are connected to major cities like Kochi, Kozhikode, Trivandrum, Coimbatore, Bangalore, Chennai by Alleppey bypass road.
Alleppey railway station is the nearest station jus 2km from main city. Alleppey is very well connected with major stations of India like Cochin, Coimbatore, Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata on regularly basis arriving here.

To board Houseboat you must reach Finishing Point before 12.00pm and cruise drops you back here after your check out.
This is the longest lake in India. It is referred by different names in different regions. Cruising on this lake is a different experience ,watching different varieties of birds, flora and fauna.
5.Shri Krishna Temple Ambalappuzha:
One of the famous Krishna temples in India, located 10 km from Alleppey. It is built in traditional Kerala Architecture. Famous for its Paal payasam(sweet rice pudding).
Marari beach is 20 km from the city, this beach has less crowd compared to Alleppey beach and perfect picnic spot for couples and family.
Light house is just few meters from Beach and is 150 years old and 30’ high.

9.Mannarasala Shree Nagaraja Temple:
Famous Nagaraja Temple in South India. It is 30km away from Alleppey near to Haripad. Temple premises is marked with snake sculptures and drawings. This temple is headed by priestess. People with Sarp Dosha visit this temple to reduce the intensity of this dosha. It is one of the Historical places in Kerala
10.Nehru Trophy Boat Race:
Nehru Trophy Boat Race is also called as Snake Boat Race. This race is held annually in the month of August in Vembnad lake. It is thrilling to watch long narrow boat moving in the lake replicating snake movement.
Duration to Stay:
Minimum of 2 days with planned itinerary is fine to stay in Kerala Alleppey, and if you want to explore as holiday 3-4 days of stay is ok to enjoy the silent backwater and get relaxed from stressful and busy life.
